Nuclear spin is an important observable of a nucleus, perhaps one of the most important measurable properties. It is also a constant of motion and a quantum number. It also defines a nucleus. Every state of a nucleus, from ground state to excited state, has a definite nuclear spin, or, angular momentum quantum number. It is an important signpost in theoretical studies also. A successful nuclear model or, theory must be able to correctly reproduce, the spin of various states. I will suggest that you further elaborate your question so that I can decide what exactly is your doubt or question.
