I am a physicist who specializes in nuclear physics. I loved nuclei since my school days and tried to gather as much information as possible about these unique building blocks of matter, from the few books and magazines available in those days (the 1960s). This interest in physics and nuclei compelled me to quit my admission to an engineering college. In my quest to understand nuclei, I have always tried to search for simplicity in their complex structure, having tried my hand in most of the subfields of nuclear structure physics. This focus on simplicity has always guided my teaching as well.
